Development Facilitation

TREND uses sophisticated analytics to identify urban neighborhoods on the cusp of change whose revitalization (including stemming decline or battling gentrification pressure) could be catalyzed by strategic commercial development. Dilapidated properties, retail redlining and absentee ownership on commercial corridors hinders community development and revitalization efforts.

 

TREND utilizes a range of products and services including: (a) due diligence to assess opportunities for strategic retail projects, (b) pro forma development services to advance projects from conceptual to investable transactions, (c) transaction facilitation services to attract high-impact retail and service tenants to neighborhoods and connect Black entrepreneurs to national franchises, and (d) financial investment and deal structuring to empower Black developers to lead projects and own commercial property.

 

TREND connects parties interested in strategic retail development. TREND maintains relationships with a coalition of retailers interested in urban retail development “Retailer Coalition of the Willing™,” provides assistance to accelerate the development timeline, and initiates new retail development.

 

TREND is the nexus of information and networks to connect macro-level infrastructure and institutional investments with micro-level changes, events, and community aspirations. TREND advocates to move projects from the pipeline to the finish line more quickly, saving time and money and accelerating neighborhood transformation.
